Do I need a logo?

We aim to create a sustainable life cycle for TOIL ’N’ MOIL workwear. We want to do this by extending the lifetime of each garment through recycling. And when the garments are worn out, we want to recycle the fibres and turn them into new items.

One of the major challenges with recycling workwear is company logos. Company logos make the garments less usable for recycling, partly because some companies may not allow for their logo to be worn by non-employees, and partly because the process of removing a printed logo is difficult and resource demanding.

Ask yourself...

We encourage you to consider the need for a logo on your workwear. We encourage you to ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do I need a logo on my workwear or can I advertise for my company in a different way, for example a badge or a pin?
  • Am I willing to place the logo in a position where it can be removed without damaging the entire piece of clothing?
  • Am I willing to pay a bit more for an embroidered logo which can be removed and re-used?

If you are willing to do a bit of re-thinking in terms of your company logo, you can help us extend the life time of a piece of clothing considerably.
